What's happening at the pool?
TISCA All-State Academic Team
Lubbock swimmers and divers continued their tradition of not only being strong in the pool, but dedicated in the classroom as well. This year seventeen Lubbock swimmers and divers were selected with All-State Academic Teams honors. This award is open to all swimmers and divers in the state of Texas that have a minimum GPA of 3.75 and letter in swimming or diving. Here is our list of All-State Academic Team:
American Red Cross Lifeguard Training
The Pete Ragus Aquatic Center will be hosting four American Red Cross Life Guarding Training sessions. The class is three days long and requires skills evaluation before admittance into the class. The cost of the class is $137.00 per person. These classes are open to LISD students only. Class size is limited to 25 students per session. TISCA All-State Honors
TISCA has announced the All-State List for Swimming and Diving 2012-2013. In all, LISD received 22 all-state honors. The best LISD has ever earned before this season was 13. The All-State Academic will be announced in late April, LISD should have a number of honors.

Three Gold Medals at State Championships
Madisyn Cox and Jaecey Parham finished the state meet on top of the awards stand! Lubbock High senior Madisyn Cox won the 200 IM and 100 Breaststrokes in state record times. Madisyn broke both state state records in prelims and came back and finals reset the records. Madisyn was named the 4A swimmer of the year. Monterey junior Jaecey Parham won the 100 backstroke in tie with Highland Park's Annelyse Tullier and finished with a bronze medal in the 100 Fly. Jaecey is Monterey's first state champion in swimming.
Lubbock Swimming & Diving Invitational 2013
The Pete Ragus Aquatic Center will host the 2013 Lubbock Invitational on January 11-12th. Teams from Houston, Dallas, El Paso, New Mexico, and West Texas will compete in this annual Swimming and Diving competition. Swimming prelims will begin at 1:00 pm on Friday the 11th. Boys one-meter diving will begin immediately following swimming prelims on Friday. Girls one-meter diving will begin at 8:30 am on Saturday January 12th. Girls and boys three-meter event will begin 45 minutes after the girls one-meter event. Swimming Finals will begin at 12:00 pm on Saturday. Admission for adults will be $3.00 for both Friday and Saturday and students will be $1.00 for both days.
Cox signs with the University of Texas
Lubbock High All-American Madisyn Cox will sign with the University of Texas on November 14th during the National Early Signing period. Madisyn has been recruited by a number of the top swimming programs in the country including Stanford, Auburn, Yale, Texas A&M and LSU. Madisyn is an eight time All-American and State Champion in the 200 IM.Madisyn will be signing her national letter of intent at the Pete Ragus Aquatic Center at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, November 14 with all of her friends, teammates and family.
Future High School Swimmers Day
On Saturday, November 10th at the Pete Ragus Aquatic Center our future high school swimmers will be recognized during the break of the Fall Classic Swim Meet. The four varsity swim teams will host Clovis High in series of seven dual meets. The swimming and diving teams have had a great season and look forward to a great challenge form the Clovis Wildcats. The meet will begin at 10:00 am.
